Length: 24 month traineeship in property surveying with trainees working to complete Assessment of Professional Competency (APC) and gain accreditation from the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland (SCSI).

Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week

Role Description: Property Surveyors work within the Property Services division of Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) to ensure the maintenance and improvement of an AHBs housing stock. A Property Surveyor’s day to day role is varied and can include conducting property surveys, stock condition surveys, managing external contractors and procurement, diagnosing defects in homes and overseeing the repairs and maintenance of homes. The traineeship is for a period of 24 months with the trainee working to undertake their APC and fulfil SCSI requirements to become chartered. Full training will be provided in order to acquire accreditation. In addition to pursuing SCSI accreditation, a comprehensive training and development programme is also in place to support the growth of your professional skills and knowledge of the housing sector. While undergoing your traineeship, you will be provided with a dedicated For Purpose mentor with an extensive background in housing who you will meet with each month for a mentoring session.  You will also attend training sessions with other trainees in social housing for one day per month covering professional skills (e.g. presentation skills, communication skills, report writing) and social housing knowledge. Trainees also attend roundtable sessions throughout the year and participate in peer-led learning activities such as learning lunches.

Traineeships in property surveying on the For Purpose programme offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package and the chance to have a direct impact in addressing Ireland’s housing needs.
